POSTERS RETURN
TO THE STREET.
Paste Up Warsaw — Independent Poster Festival is an international festival held in Warsaw’s public spaces. Its idea is to give the city to graphic art, without gallery barriers, tickets or institutional filters. Posters return to their natural environment: the street, where they meet passers-by rather than only visitors who deliberately came to an exhibition.
The Festival was born from the need to create a place for artists working outside the traditional art circuit, both professionals and those just starting out. What matters most is an original visual statement, not status or experience. That is why the open call is international and open to all.
Every year, we announce an open call for artists from around the world to submit their posters. After selection, the works are pasted onto a wall over 200 metres long by the Vistula, creating one of Europe’s largest outdoor poster galleries. The gallery lives throughout the year. We add to it and update it, so every visit looks different. Selected works travel further through satellite editions in other cities.
Each edition culminates in an opening by the Vistula. Afterwards, the gallery remains accessible every day, all year round, as part of the cityscape.
